What is sleep anxiety? - Anxiety and sleepless nights
What is sleep anxiety?
I've come across sleep-related anxiety over the last years working with clients and it’s quite different from anxiousness or anxiety during the daytime.
Sleep anxiety is more to do with how you feel when you go to bed because you’re not sure how well you will sleep at night. Because I’ve been asked about this a number of times, I wanted to record this video on what to do about sleep anxiety.
I’ve seen the direct connection between insomnia and anxiety, especially over the last few years.
So it's important to seek the appropriate help and learn how to stop anxiety happen at night. It’s not an overnight fix, but more about developing ways to stop sleep anxiety happen as you approach bedtime.
I’ve seen a number of different types of anxiousness over the years, not every anxiousness is the same, so we can’t ignore the root cause of what is happening.
Improving and overcoming anxiousness at night is all about the practical tools and techniques you develop that work in the evening before you even get into bed.
If you don’t know what to do about it, of course, anxiety will lead to sleepless nights, and then often the cycle begins again the next night.
