Who is behind The Sleep Deep Method® and this website?

Beatrix A Schmidt is the creator of The Sleep Deep Method® and promotes this through events, talks, workshops, one to one sleep coaching work and online programs that help individuals improve their sleep and/or overcome sleep issues such as insomnia.

The Sleep Deep Practice Ltd is the registered company behind these activities and is the data controller.

How do we collect information from you?

Certain personal data will be collected from you when you visit the website, when you enter your details onto our website, or when you join our social media pages or online profiles on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram.

Personal data may also be collected from you when you attend one of the talks or workshops hosted by Beatrix, or when you meet Beatrix at networking events and exchange details.

It is important that the personal data we hold about you is accurate and current. Please keep us informed if your personal data changes during your relationship with us.

What data or information do we collect?

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

Some data will be collected automatically by this website. Other data will only be collected if you voluntarily submit it and consent to us using it for the purposes set out, for example, to receive videos, articles, ticket links, etc. Depending on your use of our website, we may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows:

  •  Identity Data includes first name, last name, title, date of birth and gender.
  •  Contact Data includes billing address, delivery address, email address and telephone numbers.
  •  Financial Data includes bank account and payment card details, which may be shared with merchant payment providers.
  •  Transaction Data includes details about payments to and from you and other details of products and services you have purchased from us.
  •  Technical Data includes internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform, and other technology on the devices you use to access this website. 
  •  Profile Data includes purchases or orders made by you, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses, which may be shared with www.scoreapp.com.
  •  Usage Data includes information about how you use our website, products and services. 
  •  Marketing and Communications Data includes your preferences in receiving marketing from us and your communication preferences, which may be shared with marketing platform or content management providers.

We also collect, use and share Aggregated Data such as statistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated Data could be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. For example, we may aggregate your Usage Data to calculate the percentage of users accessing a specific website feature.

We may share your personal data with the parties set out above for the purposes set out above (eg. financial data will only be shared for the purpose of processing payments).

We require all third parties to respect the security of your personal data and to treat it in accordance with the law. We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions.

If you fail to provide personal data

Where we need to collect personal data by law, or under the terms of a contract we have with you, and you fail to provide that data when requested, we may not be able to perform the contract we have or are trying to enter into with you (for example, to provide you with goods or services). In this case, we may have to cancel a product or service you have with us but we will notify you if this is the case at the time. 

How do we use this information and your data?

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

  •  Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you for our products or services.
  •  Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests.

All personal data is stored securely in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation. We use this data to provide the best possible products and services to you which includes the following: Providing and managing your account, providing and managing your access to our website, personalising and tailoring your experience on our website, supplying our products and services to you, personalising and tailoring our products and services for you, communicating with you, supplying you with email newsletters, alerts and other information that you have subscribed to, market research, analysing your use of our site and gathering feedback to enable us to improve our website and your user experience. In some cases, the collection of data may be a statutory or contractual requirement, and we will be limited in the products and services we can provide you without your consent for us to be able to use such data.

Once you have submitted your data, we use your data for marketing purposes which may include contacting you by email, telephone, text message with information, news and offers on our products and services. We will never sell your personal data to a 3rd party. You have the right to withdraw consent to marketing at any time by contacting us.

Where you opt out of receiving these marketing messages, this will not apply to personal data provided to us as a result of a product or service purchase or experience or other transactions.

Under GDPR we will ensure that your personal data is processed lawfully, fairly and transparently, without adversely affecting your rights. Non sensitive details such as your email address are transmitted normally over the Internet, and whilst we will do our best to keep your details safe and secure, this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We do not transfer your personal data outside the UK.

Any information you transmit to us, is done at your own risk, although we always make our best efforts to ensure that your information is secure. You have the right to request deletion of your details or object to our processing of your details. You can do so at any time by emailing us on [email protected]. Under those circumstances, we will no longer keep your details, or process your details, unless we are required to keep them as a matter of law or unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing is for the establishment, or exercise of defence of legal claims. 

How long will you use my personal data for?

We will only retain your personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes we collected it for, including for the purposes of satisfying any legal, regulatory, tax, accounting or reporting requirements. 

From time to time, we will anonymise your personal data (so that it can no longer be associated with you) for research or statistical purposes, in which case we may use this information indefinitely without further notice to you. For the avoidance of doubt, as this data will no longer constitute personal data, you will not have any rights in relation to such anonymised data.

How can you access your data?

You have the right to ask for a copy of the data that we hold about you. You also have the right to request correction, erasure or transfer of your personal data, or to request any restriction of the processing or withdraw your consent.
