In today’s video, we’ll talk about how much sleep is enough for you depending on your lifestyle and personality traits. This is probably the most common question I get asked when working with people to help them overcome their long-term insomnia and sleep problems.

To be able to answer this question properly, we have to also talk about the quality of sleep vs the quantity of sleep you’re getting. Both of these matter when we really want to figure out how much sleep you actually need in order to be able to function really well during the day. 

Most people who contact me really want to know how much sleep they need, but the reality of sleep problems is that we can’t answer this question until we also talk about those things I mentioned in today’s video. To improve your sleep and get to the ideal amount of sleep you need, we also have to look at what sleep skills you have to be able to be proactive about your sleep. 

So how much sleep you need and the length of your sleep is only part of figuring out the optimal amount of sleep you need.
