How to overcome chronic sleep onset insomnia or sleep problems for thinker types
How to overcome sleep onset insomnia if you are a thinker type person.
If it regularly takes you longer than an hour to fall asleep because your mind feels overactive, racing, or simply too awake, this video is for you. Especially if this has been happening at least three nights a week for several months.
In this video, we focus on long-term sleep onset insomnia in relation to being a thinker type person. In my sleep coaching practice, the goal is simple and practical. You want to know how to fall asleep within 15 to 20 minutes consistently and confidently, not just occasionally.
The first step to fully overcoming sleep onset insomnia caused by an overactivity of the mind is to understand what shows up for you. Different people experience very different things at night, for thinker types experiences will of course be more about the thoughts that show up. Today I talked about two very typical set of behaviours I see with my clients. Most of the time these mental patterns mean that the mind has not fully separated daytime activity from nighttime rest.
Distraction techniques and rigid evening routines often make this worse. Which is why for thinker type people, developing practical and effective Sleep Skills for life is the best way to approach the problem.
If you are a thinker type, overcoming insomnia is about retraining your mind to decrease activity before bed. Not through force, but through patience, consistency and the right skills.
