There is no such thing as 'quick', 'easy' and 'effortless' but...

Of course, you can also learn those practical ways that you can overcome your sleep problems and insomnia too.

Since 2014, I have published many articles and videos to help you get to know your sleep better and overcome sleep problems and even insomnia. Some of the videos are recorded at previous talks or simply answering a question from my audience on a particular topic.

On this page, you will find the most recently published resource.

Why should I stop using my phone in bed to overcome insomnia | Sleep Coach Q&A

Why should I stop using my phone in bed to overcome insomnia | Sleep Q&A

It's always best to watch the entire video so I can walk you through the topic of today’s video through the step-by-step approach I use in my sleep coaching practice helping clients overcome their long-term insomnia and sleep problems.

But here are some chapters for you:

00:00 Introduction to why you should stop using your phone in bed to overcome your insomnia

02:52 Teaching Sleep Skills for Life

03:55 Creating a better relationship between our sleep and technology

04:25 The reasons to separate yourself from your technology at night

08:37 Conclusion to why separation from technology and your phone especially will help you to improve your sleep situation

The impact of technology on sleep is something that is definitely widely discussed and partly researched as well. The reality of our life today is that technology is here to stay so it’s important that we learn to work with it much better. In my sleep coaching practice, I see the negative impact of technology on insomnia, sleep problems and general sleep day in and day out.

So in today’s Sleep Coach Q&A video, I’ll share with you a discussion that I had with a client in my Sleep Skills for Life Programme. We focused on this particular scenario he has and ways I saw his phone effecting his sleep.

We get told over and over again that we should really stop sleeping with our phone, and stop using technology in bed, but daily I see the opposite happening causing all sorts of havoc with our sleep leading to insomnia or sleep problems.

So how can we find a better balance and develop a much better and supportive relationship between our sleep and the use of our technology.

Sleep problems and technology don’t have to go hand in hand, there are plenty of ways technology can remain a support in our lives without ruining our sleep and causing insomnia or sleep problems.

In today’s video, I’ll share with you I explain the top ways technology, especially smartphones, can cause sleep problems or insomnia without you even realising. The mind’s role in this is undoubtedly very important so that it helps you to understand and change your habits moving forward.

As part of your evening preparation for sleep, bear these things in mind and separate yourself properly from your technology. This way your body and your mind starts to relax in a whole new way, improving the quality of sleep overtime.

Overcoming insomnia and sleep problems that have been around for longer time is a bit more complex then just your relationship with your technology, but even in those cases, the results can be very surprisingly positive.

Of course, if you have any question about the things I mentioned in this video, feel free to reach out.
