How to fall back to sleep after waking up without tools? | Sleep Coach Q&A
It's always best to watch the entire video so I can walk you through the topic of today’s video through the step-by-step approach I use in my sleep coaching practice helping clients overcome their long-term insomnia and sleep problems.
But here are some chapters for you:

02:38 Teaching Sleep Skills for Life
03:57 Should you be getting out of bed if you can't sleep in the middle of the night
06:52 Not letting the 'tool based' mindset keep you awake for longer in the middle of the night
08:27 Explaining the 'tool based' mindset and how it can keep you awake for longer
15:03 Conclusions on how to fall back to sleep without tools in the middle of the night
There are so many suggestions on what to do at night when you can’t sleep. The list of exercises, tools, hacks, and secrets is endless.
There are exercises to sleep at night, exercises to help you fall asleep, suggestions on what not to do at night, there are specific insomnia exercises or insomnia tools or an exercise to sleep better in general.
The number of things I heard from clients over the years is endless.
Whilst of course most of these exercises or tools you heard of are beneficial, not everything is suitable for every type of insomnia or sleep problem that has been around for a longer period of time.
So in today’s video, I wanted to talk about this tool based mindset that I come across in my practice every day.
This mindset can actually stop you from effectively sleeping well naturally. When someone sleeps naturally, they don’t need a list of things to make that happen, but all the things that help sleep be naturally are internal skills that the person sometimes isn’t even aware of.
Of course, I use tools and techniques and exercise in my practice too. But what I teach my clients simply enables them to not need tools in the future. They are training exercises to help the body and the mind to develop Sleep Skills for Life so that the person doesn’t have to continue putting so much effort into sleep.
Overcoming insomnia and sleep problems that have been around for longer time is a bit more complex then just your relationship with your technology, but even in those cases, the results can be very surprisingly positive.
Of course, if you have any question about the things I mentioned in this video, feel free to reach out.
